If the player loses the final battle, they are defeated and Gig reverts back to his original personality, leaving Revya's side but before saying that Gig really enjoyed their time together. Revya commits multiple atrocities such as kidnapping children as hostages, massacring cities filled with people (including children), making two groups of warriors kill each other, conquering kingdoms and empires and corrupting those that are forced to serve them into monstrous murderers.Įvery action Revya takes is just for their sick pleasure even acts such as taking a bolt of lightning for Pinot were only done so she didn't die and Revya could torture her by killing her friend Aggripa in front of her.Įventually, Revya's destruction grows so great that all living beings still alive, including the World Eaters, band together to kill them, seeing it as the only way to stop the world from being destroyed. In the Demon Path, when taking the sword and having Gig possess their body, Revya decides to become a genocidal monster, killing all those close to them without any shred of remorse or care.įrom then on, Revya goes on the warpath, destroying and killing anyone they want and corrupting those that Revya finds to be fun or useful. Revya was found by Layna and raised in order to be the wielder of the Onyx Blade, Lord Median's sword which contained the Lord of Death, Gig, a weapon which would be used to allow Revya to fight against Drazil and restore the balance of souls between the two worlds. The Hero is instead relies on creating and commanding squads to save the world from the World Eaters.Revya is the reincarnation of the son of Lord Median who died two hundred years ago of an illness. Though the Hero can use Gig's power to become unstoppable, he in turn loses control to Gig which leads to the world being destroyed. Along with three powerful creatures known as World Eaters, Gig and the World Eaters were trapped into a sword, which in turn came into the possession of the main character. You play as a character named 'Revya' who is infused with the soul of Gig, The Master of Death who came to the land of Prodesto 200 years ago. Soul Nomad also has far more NPC interaction than previous Nippon Ichi titles, in that you can attack and steal from neutral NPCs, recruit NPCs into your party, and even have your relationships with NPCs be effected by selected conversation choices. The player has the option of choosing the main character's gender as is given the task of creating and managing massive armies to defeat the antagonist and save the world, despite being put in the role of a character that can become powerful enough to beat the end-boss by himself.Īlso opposing much of the developer's previous titles is high amount of customization and the non-present need to grind levels, since players can just buy new units. As opposed to the vast majority of Nippon Ichi titles, Soul Nomad focuses a lot heavier on the overhead-map, troop control aspect of a the SRPG genre.
